This transfer has truly flown by! I hadn’t realized its been three weeks already until yesterday afternoon! What a blessing that time has started to fly by.
We had our Zone Conference this week and it was pretty great! I got to see some missionaries I haven’t seen in a while, yet again, including my old trainer. There were some really good messages shared and we left with renewed determination!
Unfortunately, that determinationed dwindled a bit as my companion and I slowly got sick throughout the rest of the week. It turns out that theres something going around and we caught it, so by Saturday Elder North was out for the count. I was blessed to only get kind of sick so I’ve still been able to work pretty well all things considered.
Despite my companion being sick, we were also still able to accomplish some pretty cool things this week!
Our progressing friend who is close to accepting baptism is getting closer, but still isn’t really sure yet. We were able to have some amazing spirit filled lessons with him which we hope will help and we pray that he makes that decision soon!
We had a media referal that actually answered and is interested in learning more which doesnt happen very often at all so were super excited for that!
We did an exchange on Saturday afternoon with our housemates so that Elder North could get some rest and it was pretty fun! I went with Elder Wilson to cover both areas while Elder Hanson stayed home to take care of Elder North. We had a good time getting to know each other better and doing things like sitting in on another lesson with our swahili friends who are progressing slowly but steadily!
Long story short, its been a good week! Its been long and exhausting too, but it’s taught me a lot about the importance of charity and love. I know that its through understanding and seeing others the way that the Savior understands and sees them that we can learn to love others and have charity towards them no matter what. Also, when we love others we suddenly find that our own lives seem to “magically” become better and happier!
Speaking of charity and love, since I don’t have much else to share, I’ll end by saying that I love and miss you all and I look forward to sending another letter next week!
Sincerely,
Elder Whitchurch

Fun Story:
We had a zone p-day today and one of the games we played is this absolutely diabolical game called Curses. Essentially each person or team gets a “curse” that they have to act out throughout the game. If they’re caught not doing it they lose the curse but also lose a life. Each player gets to add more curses to other players as you complete challenges throughout the game and then recieve them in turn.
Elder North and I started the game with the curse of having to act like a wicked witch, had the curse of always talking with the tip of our tongues between our teeth added on, and then had things just get hilariously worse from there. Its a really fun game but definitely quite the challenge!
